FIFA 23: Players praise new gameplay, but dribblers need to tremble

The first “Live Tuning Update” is now available in FIFA 23. This is now the first time the gameplay is turning – but only to a very limited extent.

What is this for an update? “Live tuning updates” are minor updates as opposed to major “title updates”. This usually doesn’t require a large download, but you may have to exit FIFA 23 and restart it to activate it.

The live tuning update is now coming shortly after the first title update, which is supposed to fix PC issues. The live update is now coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia.

  • Also, the animation of the “Technical Dribbling” will be faster on low-rated dribblers. This affects players whose dribbling values ​​are below 90.

What is Technical Dribbling in FIFA 23? In the FIFA 23 pitch notes, “technical dribbling” is described as the “new default left stick dribbling style” (via EA.com).

So these are the dribbling animations you get when you only use the left stick. These should now be faster with weak dribblers.

In the early days of FIFA 23, some players commented that dribbling would feel clumsy. It is possible that this change will now accommodate them – although it remains to be seen how comprehensive the change actually is. After all, this is a live tuning, not a title update.

In addition, only the spoilers under 90 Dribbling are affected. With the top dribblers, no effect should be noticeable for the time being.
