Despite this, there is one particular Twitter account that only reports on the crème de la crème of the games. “CanYouPetTheDog” has made it its mission to list all the games in which players can pet their animal companions. Here you can find titles such as the recently released Return to Monkey Island, as well as older games such as Civilization 6.

Next Disney Dreamlight Valley update might let you interact with your animals

While the new Disney Dreamlight Valley is already quite popular with gamers, the developers must have noticed that it simply cannot go any further without a mention of CanYouPetTheDog. On the official Twitter account, the developers therefore ask whether players would like to interact with their animal companions. There are possible answers here: “Yes,” “YES,” and “Yes (in the next update)”.

So far, the answers are pretty much neck-and-neck, with the middle choice a little further down the line. So we can’t be sure which answer will actually win here. Of course, the developers could just have a little fun, but it would certainly break the hearts of many fans if they couldn’t pet their animal friends after all.
