Silent Hill: Director claims multiple games are in development

For months, there have been rumors that Konami has big plans for a comeback for the Silent Hill brand. Nothing has been specifically announced so far, but now a film director of all people is providing new fodder for speculation.

Christophe Gans, director of the Silent Hill feature film released in 2006, gives an interview with the French-language magazine MaG – Movie & Game to wordsthat several Silent Hill games would be in the works. Konami is working on reviving the brand on a large scale.

Silent Hill: “I work with Konami”

In the interview, translated by Forum resetera, Gans is quite candid about the future of the Silent Hill brand. He himself works closely with the Silent Team, the inventors of the horror game at Konami. As a result, he knows that “several games are currently in development”. He believes Konami was particularly impressed by the success of the Resident Evil remakes.

In the course of the interview, Gans even manages to elicit a little more. For example, when asked, he confirms that Team Blooper is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2. The first supposed pictures of this only recently appeared, but Konami was silent about it. There is still no official announcement.

In addition, a new game is apparently also being created for the Silent Team. There, according to Gans, several developers would still be working who have already worked on earlier parts of the series. According to his own statements, the director also knew some of these employees from before, when he shot the first Silent Hill film for Konami.

A new film is also in the works

Incidentally, as a film director, Gans himself is not involved in the development of the games. Instead, he’s in touch with Konami as he’s working on a new Silent Hill movie. Filming on the project is expected to begin in February 2023.

The film is also believed to be part of the plan to make a comeback for the Silent Hill brand. Konami itself, however, remains silent and continues to not comment on rumors and speculation.
