The car manufacturer BMW is planning to bring “casual games” to the dashboard together with the games platform AirConsole. From 2023, the curved display of newer BMW vehicles should be able to play games directly on the car’s entertainment system, which can then be controlled via smartphone.

Games should “sweeten waiting times”

According to the company, the games are intended to make waiting situations such as charging the batteries of electric vehicles a “joyful moment”. According to the CEO of N-Dream, which provides the AirConsole service, it aims to “change the way” people are entertained in vehicles. Potential players should be able to connect their smartphone to the vehicle using QR codes on the curved display.

It can be assumed that the console in the car will only be available when stationary. The car manufacturer does not initially mention which safety mechanisms apply to moving traffic.
