Gotham Knights: Beware – huge spoiler leaked online
It won’t be that long before Gotham Knights is released. DC Universe fans will surely be most interested in finding out what a world without Batman would be like. Unfortunately, some parts of the storyline have already been shared online as the game’s official art book has already been shipped ahead of the game’s release. At least one Reddit user has already shared the alleged ending of the game, which of course caused quite a bit of frustration among players.
Gotham Knights story spoilers are making the rounds
We already know that players will likely need multiple playthroughs to discover everything. Also, the title is very story focused, as we explained in our Gotham Knights preview. So with a spoiler about the game’s plot, a lot of what makes the game special is lost. So if you don’t want to know what the leaks brought to light, you should skip the next two paragraphs.
In Gotham Knights (buy now €94.99 / €53.99 ) Batman has died, so heroes like Nightwing and Batgirl must now take over his role and ensure law and order in Gotham. The developers were very keen on Batman really being dead, but the game’s alleged art book reveals that’s not really the case. Allegedly, Bruce Wayne was revived by Talia al Ghul and there’s even a boss fight against Batman in which players try to get the superhero back on their side.
After this, Batman appears to die again while protecting the playable heroes from Talia. However, some fans assume that Batman survives this confrontation, which could be quite interesting for possible DLC for the game. However, we won’t find out exactly how the whole thing will work until the game is actually released.
It is very understandable that both users and the actual developers are quite frustrated that such an important story point has already been leaked to the public. The original user who shared the scenes from the art book on Reddit has his Account now completely emptiedand the game subreddit create one own spoiler post, new contributions to the spoilers are therefore prohibited. Noisy kotaku Publisher WB also managed to take down some YouTube videos reporting on the leak. At the very least, players will only have to avoid any spoilers about the game for a few days now, as Gotham Knights will be released as early as October 21st this year.
