FIFA 23: EA accidentally leaks World Cup mode on PS5

Electronic Arts accidentally leaked the upcoming FIFA 23 World Cup mode on the PS5 itself.

The World Cup in Qatar starts in November, only then should the corresponding mode be available in the game.

How did the leak come about?

It is still unclear what exactly happened and why players on the PS5 were able to take a look at the World Cup mode first.

Anyway, screenshots from it have been posted on social media showing four different modes: FIFA World Cup Live, FIFA World Cup Kick-Off, Online Tournament and FIFA World Cup 2022.

The users also report that 48 teams can be played in this mode. That’s a few more than the 32 nations participating in the tournament.

It’s not EA’s first self-inflicted issue with FIFA 23. Xbox users were able to play the full version about a month before the game’s release, subject to certain conditions.

There was also a pricing error in India that nearly gave away the game there.

FIFA 23 is the last game from EA to appear under this name. From next year, the series will be titled EA Sports FC.
