WoW: Dragonflight: More is always better! Up to eight action bars in Dragonflight
With the upcoming WoW expansion Dragonflight we get the opportunity to use up to eight action bars with our heroes. Thanks to the new interface system, we can of course adjust and change them as we wish.
With the revision of the interface in WoW: Dragonflight, the developers not only want to upgrade the outdated UI and bring it to a modern level, but also make a whole range of addons obsolete. In particular, the devs are targeting interface addons such as ElvUi or Bartender. Not only can we freely position all elements, we can also adjust their size and appearance in a variety of ways.
With the latest beta build, another option that was previously only available through an addon was added. So far it was only possible to display a maximum of five different action bars. By default, three at the bottom of the screen, plus two more on the right edge. With WoW (buy now ): Dragonflight, however, the number will now increase to a total of eight bars. That’s still two fewer than, for example, ElvUI can do, but there are no bars that are used twice, which were used in different druid forms, for example.
Customize and Adjust
The additional bars work exactly like the previous ones. You can also position them freely on the screen and adjust them both in terms of size and orientation. Whether in a row from left to right, from top to bottom or as a rectangle in several rows – the choice is yours.
With this, the developers are clearly targeting the needs of many advanced players, for whom the previous bars are not sufficient. If you want to distribute other macros, consumables, toys or mounts on the bars in addition to all the skills, you will quickly reach the limits of the bars. That will hardly be the case in Dragonflight. Especially since “unimportant” bars can be reduced and pushed into a corner of the screen.

The only feature that is actually still missing to completely replace the previous bar addons is a mouseover overlay. So far it is only possible to show or hide the bars automatically during the fight. However, the standard interface has not yet been able to show a hidden bar by hovering over it with the mouse. But that should only be a small drop of bitterness on a fairly well thought-out feature.
