Resident Evil 4 Remake will implement modern design techniques without losing the vision of the original.

Resident Evil 4 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi presented the first extended look at the highly anticipated game during the Resident Evil Showcase with a gameplay video showing the first few minutes of the game.

Additionally, a new story trailer was also unveiled, hinting at some of the surprises that await new players and long-time fans alike. Featuring a striking scene where Leon S. Kennedy meets the Ganados for the first time, the development team uses modern design techniques and graphics to simultaneously recreate the vision of the original while adding new depth to it .

The first look at the combat system revealed some new ways the Ganados will attack, pursue, or flank Leon with surprising speed and brutality. To successfully walk the fine line between death and life, Leon’s arsenal of weapons and melee attacks now includes the ability to attack enemies to parry attacks and with his knife Finishing blows to execute.

Hirabayashi-san also gave a first look at how some fan-favorite characters and mechanics have been recreated in Resident Evil 4 – with a focus on even more significant player choices. The merchant also returns and offers Leon all sorts of helpful items and weapon upgrades for sale.
