Modern Warfare 2 is now playable before release. But many players are reporting problems with the new Call of Duty – use these fixes and solutions.

Update from 10/26/2022: Two days before the full release of Modern Warfare 2, there is an issue for PlayStation players. On the Sony consoles, you can’t currently get to the normal main menu to play the story in Early Access. Developer Infinity Ward has a solution for this.

Open the quick settings in Modern Warfare 2. To do this, press the option button on your controller and leave the game there. This should result in you ending up in the correct menu again and being able to play the campaign normally in Early Access.

Modern Warfare 2: Players are angry because they can’t play the new Call of Duty

This is how Early Access starts: Since the evening of October 20th, fans can play the new Call of Duty before the release. The Modern Warfare 2 campaign is playable a whole 8 days earlier. Unfortunately, the start of MW2 Early Access yesterday did not go quite so well.

MW2 players have these problems: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offered a preload, so you could finish the download before unlocking the game to avoid wasting time. This preload caused the most trouble in Early Access. But otherwise the players scold. But the actual campaign is really well received – so much game time is in the story of Modern Warfare 2.

• At 7 p.m. sharp on October 20th, the Modern Warfare 2 campaign started in Early Access on PS4/PS5, Xbox and PC. Many users report that MW2 does not allow preloading. So it was not possible to gamble on time at the start of the campaign.
• There were also errors on Steam and Xbox after the preload that make playing Modern Warfare 2 impossible.
• On Xbox, the “too early” error message terrorized impatient gamers. PC users on Steam report two major problems: the error code “change Activision ID” (changes the Activision ID) and disconnections caused trouble.

The final release of MW2 isn’t until next week, on October 28th. We assume that all issues will have been resolved by Activision by then and that the developers are now making the most of the testing time.
