While no official sequel to The Last Of Us Part 2 has been announced yet, actress Laura Bailey has opened up about her role as Abby and why she would definitely step back into her shoes.

Laura Bailey would “definitely” return

As the voice actress in a recent interview for the site Comic Book Movie was asked about her very controversial role, she apparently didn’t have to think long:

I would definitely return to her. I know there was a lot of drama surrounding her character, but it was one of the most influential roles I’ve had in my life. I would 100% play Abby again if the opportunity arises.

With the drama, the voice actress means the hostilities and threats that she unfortunately had to endure, especially online, after the second part of the Last Of Us series. She shared some of them on social media, showing a very ugly side of gaming.

Nonetheless, she delivered an impressive performance in the game of Naughty Dog and deservedly earned the Best Performance trophy at the Game Awards 2020.

Speaking about the HBO series, she said the first pictures are looking fantastic and she can’t wait to see more of them. And who knows, we might even see her and Abby themselves in a second season someday.

A familiar voice

No matter what genre of game you’re into, you’ve probably met Laura Bailey. It would definitely go beyond the scope to list all the characters she has impersonated over the years. MJ Watson from Marvel’s Spiderman, Nadine Ross from Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy are probably the best known of the last few years. She also often plays alongside her husband Travis Willingham, for example in Marvel’s Avengers as Black Widow and Thor.

Your most recent project is so fresh it’s still warm. In New Tales from the Borderlands she is also at the start as the character Fiona.

She is also part of the Critical Role Crew, who cause a lot of enthusiasm with their tabletop role-playing games and now even have their own series on Amazon Prime Video. In addition to many other voice actors from the gaming sector, Ashley Johnson aka Ellie from The Last of Us is also part of the party.
