BREAKING: The Witcher 1 gets remake in Unreal Engine 5
This is what Geralt looked like in 2007. The debut is now being reissued.
One can certainly argue about the point of some remasters or remakes, but we are pretty sure that many of you will be very happy about the following announcement: The WitcherWitcher Geralt’s first adventure, gets a “modern remake” using developer Fool’s Theory’s Unreal Engine 5.
Where does the info come from? The official message reached GamePro a few minutes ago and has now also been sent via the Twitter account shared by CD Projekt RED.
The Witcher probably for the first time on consoles
Even if the platforms have not yet been officially confirmed, gamers on consoles in particular should be happy about the announcement, after all the first game was only released for PC in 2007. Part 2 was released exclusively for Xbox consoles before The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt mutated into a multi-platform game.
When will the remake come out? Unfortunately, there is currently no concrete information on this. What is known, however, is that the game is still in an early phase of development. It should therefore be a few more years until the release.
The first picture of the game is not very meaningful so far.

As the press release also shows, developer Fool’s Theory brings together numerous developers who have already worked on Assassins of Kings and Wild Hunt. CD Projekt will have creative oversight during production.

The current-gen version of The Witcher 3 will be released later this year for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There is currently no exact date.
This is in the update: Compared to the 2015 original, the version appears with ray tracing and significantly shorter loading times, and will also appear as a complete edition including the two story add-ons. If you have already purchased The Witcher 3, you will receive the version for free.
