Practical function in Overwatch 2 provides a better overview - without looking

Not everyone agrees with Overwatch 2’s new features. No more feedback cards at the end of each round and it’s even a bit harder to find an item or two in the menu. But there are also small bright spots that make life in Overwatch 2 easier.

A little hint for everyone who wants to keep track

Even with only five players per team facing each other in a match, things can get chaotic at times. No matter what role you’re playing, it’s important to keep track of which teammates are alive, which ones have just been eliminated, and which enemies are currently on the battlefield or may be joining. So you need to know who is alive and who is dead.

Overwatch 2 always shows which hero killed which other hero at the top right of the screen. The problem here is that you have to look away from what is happening in the game for a short moment, or at least you can only follow it from the corner of your eye. So that you can still keep your eyes fully focused on what is happening on the map, there is a function called “Play sound when team member is eliminated”.

Yes, sometimes it can be really annoying to always want to have everything in view. That little feature might make it a little easier.

With it you can hear when a friend or an enemy dies – here the setting would then be “Play sound when an opponent is eliminated”. Both functions can be found in the general audio settings under “Noise”.

This allows your eyes to focus on one thing and your ears on another. You’re Mercy and you hear your tank just died? Then you can react quickly and heal a damage dealer or give him a damage buff.

You know that the opposing Reaper is dead and can’t surprise you with his ult from the side? Then you can launch an attack. The function gives you important information that you might otherwise miss or take the risk of not being 100 percent with your eyes in combat.
