Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti: Asus presents models with GDDR6X memory

AMD has announced the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards with the new RDNA3 architecture for December 13th.

In the future, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will be available in models with normal GDDR6 RAM as well as versions with the faster GDDR6X RAM – the GeForce RTX 3060 will also be offered with only 8GB GDDR6 RAM – so far the RTX 3060 has been provided with 12GB . While these two changes have been known for a while, they shouldn’t exactly provide a better overview for buyers who don’t constantly follow the hardware market. In particular, the fact that the GeForce RTX 3060 gets less RAM could cause resentment, since depending on the game and graphics settings, the graphics card will perform less than you expect if you study test results before buying and don’t know that you are keep an eye out for late-breaking tests.

Regarding the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with faster RAM, Asus has now introduced two new models of the dual series that will rely on GDDR6X RAM. Previously, Asus had already announced RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards from the TUF series, which will also be equipped with GDDR6X RAM. PC Games Hardware also reports on the subject.

The faster RAM could result in up to 10 percent more FPS, so the GDDR6X variants should sit between the normal versions and the GeForce RTX 3070, which in turn is around 14 to 15 percent faster than the previous GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

The two new dual models from Asus will be only 23 centimeters long – the previous GeForce RTX 3060 Ti dual variants from Asus measure 26.9 centimeters.
