Greedy Specter in Pokémon GO - Everything about the appearance, forms and location of the new monster

In Pokémon GO, since November 5th, trainers have been able to encounter Greedphant. We at MeinMMO took a closer look at the new monster and will show you what we already know about its appearance, its shape and location.

Which Pokemon is it? As the Dratini Community Day Classic drew to a close on Saturday, November 5th, more and more golden PokéStops began appearing in the world of Pokémon GO. These brought you mysterious coins and a new tiny Pokémon, which accompanied you in the search for these coins.

After the monster was initially only known under the Pokédex number 1080, it now also has a name: Greedy Specter. We have summarized below what the new Pokémon looks like, what forms it has and where you can find it in the future.

This is Greedpenst – Looks, Behavior & Shiny

What kind of Pokemon is Greedspectre? Greedphant is a ghost Pokémon from the Paldea region, i.e. the 9th generation of games. Whether it has a preliminary or further development is not yet known at this point in time. However, it has two different forms: chest form and wandering form.

Whether the wandering form also belongs to the spirit type or is ultimately assigned to another type is also not yet known.

Greedwraith Appearance and Behavior: Depending on the form in which you encounter the Greedy Specter, its appearance differs, but so does its behavior. In the wandering form, which you could already meet in Pokémon GO in the last few days, the little monster is reminiscent of a tiny beetle.

It has a blue-grey body, large golden eyes outlined in black, and long antennae that it can direct like a dowsing rod to find golden coins. It also carries one of those mysterious coins on its back.

In a first YouTube video from Pokémon, Professor Willow and Señor Jim from the Paldea region exchange information about the monster. This is how Jim Gierspenst describes his transformation form as a Pokémon, which avoids contact with people and thus independently searches for coins (via youtube.com).

In its chest form, the wandering form, as its name suggests, hides in a treasure chest plentifully filled with golden coins. The chest is red with gold borders. To close it has a black strap with a silver buckle.

In contrast to the wandering form, however, the chest form should not go in search of coins itself, but let people fill the chest with the coins.

Is there Shiny Greed Specter? No! Currently, no shiny variant of Greedspecter can be found in the game.

Catching the Greed Specter – Everything we know about the location

Currently, Greedspectre cannot be caught in any of its forms in Pokémon GO. You can only observe it in its wandering form on the map when it runs after you. It doesn’t matter which region you live in. You only need to have previously spun a gold stop once to see it. If you click on the monster, you will see a speech bubble with a golden coin.

Greedy Specter (wandering form) accompanies you in Pokémon GO

Can you catch Greedphant soon? Yes! According to current information, the Pokémon is part of the new Pokémon games “Pokémon Crimson” and “Pokémon Crimson” for the Nintendo Switch, which are scheduled for release on November 18, 2022. It will therefore soon be available for coaches of these games.

From 2023 you should also be able to connect to the games in Pokémon GO, which should also make it possible to catch Greedpenst in its wandering form in the mobile game.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known when exactly it will be, where you can find it and whether there is anything to watch out for when catching it. However, a similar approach to Meltan and the Wunderbox would be conceivable. So far, however, these are only guesses. As soon as there is new information from Ninatic, you will find out from us on MeinMMO.

How do you like the new Pokemon? Are you hoping it will be available to all trainers to catch soon? Or would you rather look forward to another release? Feel free to write us your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.

By the way: In the Pokémon GO subreddit, players are currently puzzling over the new coins. We will show you the 3 most exciting theories as to how the mysterious coins could continue.
