What is NIKKE? Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is a third person shooter game for mobile devices. It is developed by Korean studio Shift Up and published by Level Infinite. NIKKE will be released worldwide on November 3, 2022 for Android and iOS. Already before the release more than 3 million registrations were recorded. The game is free-to-play and features a gacha game system for monetization. After the successful closed beta, the game is now also available with a German localization for the global release.
What’s the story? Nikke is set in a post-apocalyptic future. Our world has been overrun by mechanical monsters dubbed the “Rapture.” The Rapture have ravaged the planet’s surface, wiping out most of humanity.
The few survivors have crouched underground and built a futuristic sanctuary called “Ark”. That’s where the Nikke were created. These are battle androids in the guise of cute anime girls. They take their name from Nike, the ancient goddess of victory.
With the help of the Nikke and her superior martial talents, humanity has a chance to reclaim the planet. Teams of Nikkes are dispatched to the surface under the control of a “Commander” to deal delicate blows to the Rapture and ultimately defeat the mechanical tyrants.

The features of NIKKE
Simple control: As a Commander, you take control of a team of up to five Nikkes. The gameplay is reminiscent of cover shooters like Gears of War. Your Nikkes will crouch behind ruins and other cover, and at your command, they’ll peek out with their weapons and open fire on any enemies you target.
Each Nikke shoots automatically, all you have to do is aim roughly in the direction of the Rapture opponents and your fighter will do the rest. Each Nikke is unique and has a favorite weapon that she uses. There are also three skills. Two of these are regular abilities that help you shoot down your opponents even more effectively.
If you have killed enough enemies, you accumulate points and at some point you can then knock out your “Burst Skill”. This is a special special move that will have your Nikke knocking out opponents in bulk. The tactically clever use of your skills often determines victory or defeat in wild battles.
Shooting is quick and since your Nikke does the shooting and reloading, you can concentrate fully on the essentials and keep a tactical overview. The controls are so cleverly designed that you can master them with just one hand, effectively completing enemies and missions. You can play NIKKE either alone or with up to four other players in online co-op.
Pretty Anime Graphics: Another unique feature of NIKKE is the beautiful artwork. Each Nikke is a unique figure and designed with great attention to detail. The artist in charge is Hyung-tae Kim, who is also the CEO of the development studio.
If you are familiar with Hyung-tae Kim’s style, you have probably already seen his works in popular Korean games such as Blade & Soul or Magna Carta. There he influenced the style significantly.

Anime characters to collect: On the NIKKE website several unique Nikkes are already being presented. Each of the android women has her own story and personality. The cool Rapi is known for her stubbornness, while the weapons expert Neon is a real “gun nerd” who never stops chatting about guns.
Other Nikke have interesting hobbies, like Volume, who works on her hip-hop career away from the battlefield. Some Nikkes also have fun quirks, like the athletic Folkwang, who enjoys exercising but also has a body that tends to overheat. That’s why she always has an ice cream with her, which she sucks to cool down.
You start with an initial team of Nikkes and then earn more characters as you progress through the game. To do this, the game uses a sophisticated gatcha system, with which you draw randomly selected characters in different power levels.
With a bit of luck, you’ll continue to build up a powerful shock force of Nikkes, with which you’ll heat up the Rapture properly. Gatcha moves can be earned in-game or unlocked instantly with microtransactions. By the way, to celebrate the launch, players will receive 110 free Gatcha moves and two powerful characters.
