Street Fighter 6 allows for button mashing while the AI performs moves for you

Street Fighter 6 gets a new control scheme that allows players to button-mash while being assisted by an AI.

That comes from a new interview by Game Informer out. This third control scheme is planned alongside the classic and modern controls.

Bang on the keys

The modern control scheme aims to allow less experienced players with simplified button inputs to perform special moves more easily.

This third control scheme allows for even more accessibility, letting users pound the buttons while an AI uses various factors to determine which moves to perform.

“We wanted something important and something that would make a difference through random button presses,” says director Takayuki Nakayama.

The AI therefore dynamically determines which attacks are carried out based on the situation and position of the character.

“When a character is far away, pressing a button can fire a projectile, while the same button can trigger a combo in a melee,” it says.

However, unlike the other two, this dynamic control scheme is limited to local play and cannot be used online.

Street Fighter 6 will be released in 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
