Remedy Entertainment have officially revealed on their website that they are working on a sequel to their 2019 action-adventure Control (in the test, grade: 8.5) work. To do this, they have signed a co-development and co-publishing agreement with 505 Games.
Game Director reports on the Remedy homepage Mikael Kasurinen to word:
With Control we took the leap into the unknown. We wanted to create something new. Something different and unexpected. A world like no other.
With control 2 we will take another leap into the unknown. It will be an unexpected journey. It’s going to take a while, but to say the least, this is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. We are still at the beginning, but it will be worth the wait.
The Co-CEOs of 505 Games Rami and Raffi Galante note that Control is “the largest investment 505 Games has ever made” and that it has sold over three million copies since its release in 2019.
The project, previously worked on under the codename Heron, is currently in the concept phase. It will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will take advantage of Remedy’s Northlight engine.
