User Finds Strange Item On New Gaming PC – And The Community Is Having A Lot Of Fun

A WiFi antenna for a gaming PC that nobody seems to know about

What exactly is it? The solution to the strange object is quickly found, because it is probably the WLAN antenna for his computer. These antennas are usually screwed to the mainboard on the back of the PC like a TV cable.

If you look around on Amazon, for example, you will quickly find that mainboards with WLAN are always delivered with such a black module to improve performance.

Do you need the antenna at all? But the user still seems confused as he asks, “Do you think it’s worth pocketing or isn’t that important?”

Many users do not seem to be aware that there are external WLAN antennas for gaming systems. Another gamer explains that many do not even install the part and therefore have a significantly weaker internet performance. That’s how he writes on reddit:

A friend got a PC a while back and didn’t know what it was so he threw it away. He always complained that his wifi was so bad and once I was at his house I checked it out.

I told him the antenna was missing and he didn’t believe me so I put him in a game and then I plugged in the antenna on the back and suddenly his wifi was great. Only then did he believe me. Then he put a coat hanger in the hole and called it a day.

Another adds that he has never seen anything like this and doesn’t even know where to connect something like this to the PC (via reddit.com):

How is the device connected to the PC? I’m a complete novice and have never used a wifi antenna. For those using coaxial connectors, this seems pretty standard. I have no idea.

The solution seems to be found quickly, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for many other users. Because the community has a lot of bizarre and absurd ideas about what the manufacturer could have put in the buyer’s PC box.

How is the community reacting? The post on reddit now has over 10,000 upvotes and more than 1,600 comments. The users can’t let it go either, and amusedly discuss the picture and the thread creator’s question. And very few of the more than 1,000 comments really take the question seriously:

• One explains that he can use the part to improve the performance of his processor.
• A second believes that it must be a kitchen knife. Another replies that it’s more like “a very dull plastic knife.”
• A third writes that this shape and size must surely be a sex toy.
