New MMORPG promises photorealistic graphics and dogfights – Shows first strong trailer

The MMORPG Night Crows was announced at the Korean gaming fair G-Star. It’s being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and looks really nice in the first trailer. We at MeinMMO tell you everything we know so far.

What do we know about the MMORPG? Night Crows will be a fantasy MMORPG and is scheduled to be released in Korea in April 2023. But there are not many details yet:

• It should be a high-quality MMORPG with photorealistic graphics.
• You can fly through the game world with a glider and climb over roofs. The world should be based on the Middle Ages in Europe.
• The combat system is intended to be action-packed, with combat taking place both on the ground and in the air.
• In the game world there will be huge bosses that you have to fight together with other players.
• One of the main features are PvP battles with 1,000 players.

It is currently unclear for which platforms Night Crows will appear. Wemade is known for developing for mobile devices. The most likely is a game that offers crossplay between PC and smartphone. The payment model is also not known.

Trailer looks beautiful, but can the MMORPG keep it?

What does the trailer show? According to the official description, the trailer should show “in-game footage”, i.e. content that can be found in the game in exactly the same way. The landscapes and fights shown make an outstanding impression.

Especially the cities and the landscapes look impressive. The section around minute 1:30, in which you see a player jumping over roofs like in Assassin’s Creed, is particularly cool.

However, trailers should always be viewed with a certain degree of skepticism. Graphics in the finished game are repeatedly scaled down because otherwise the performance would suffer. Especially in battles with up to 1,000 players, it seems unlikely that the game can be played with such a high level of detail as in the trailer.

Incidentally, Night Crows is not the first MMORPG in Unreal Engine 5:

When will there be more about the game? With Wemade also having a booth at G-Star, there’s a good chance we’ll see more info and possibly even gameplay in the coming days.
