We’ll probably never see Ryas’ face in Horizon Call of the Mountain.

The PSVR 2 exclusive, Horizon Call of the Mountain, lets us experience the world of the Horizon series from a first-person perspective for the first time. In the game, climbing will be an important feature that we will use to move through the game world.

So it would make sense if the protagonist we were playing was a skilled climber. Guerrilla has now taken the time to introduce the protagonist Ryas to us in more detail. This way we can get an idea of whose skin we will be stuck in.

On Twitter, Guerrilla reveals some details about Ryas. Unfortunately, we don’t get a close look at his appearance, because in Horizon Call of the Mountain we will play him from the first person point of view. So even in game we probably don’t get a sense of what his face looks like. Unless we see it in mirroring or reflections:

Who is Ryas? The former shadow Carja comes from a wealthy family. He rose to become a master rock climber in his youth, which is probably why he’s so good at shimmying down walls in Horizon Call of the Mountain.

Through his time as Shadow Carja, he is trained in handling a bow and arrow, which means he is well-armed for the fight against the machine creatures. However, he has removed the insignia and markings from his Shadow Carja gear, as he no longer wants to be associated with that era. He is also connected to the young Prince Itamen, whom we already know from the Horizon titles.
