Future DC Games Will Be Connected To DC Extended Universe Movies

Though Marvel has decided to keep their games separate from their MCU in movies and series, it looks like DC will be heading in a different direction. Future games based on DC properties will apparently be part of a larger connected universe, shared with DC movies and TV shows. DC Extended Universeyesand.

So said James Gunn, who was recently named co-CEO and president of the newly established DC Studios. Gunn will oversee the larger DC connected universe, and when asked on Twitter if that universe would also involve future games, he answered with a simple “Yes.”

It’s worth noting, of course, that there aren’t many DC titles confirmed to be in production right now. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League It’s due out next year, but this close to release, it’s unlikely I’ll see its story adjusted to fit within the DCU framework, especially since it’s already confirmed that it will be set in the DCU universe. Monolith Productions is working on an open world title for Wonder Woman, which may well end up featuring some of these story connections. Meanwhile, the developer of Gotham KnightsWB Games Montreal, also appears to be working on an unannounced AAA title.
