Gotham Knights: Free Update brings new mode and galactic opponent

Even before the release, Gotham Knights fell out of favor with players: Only 30 FPS despite Next-Gen exclusivity was a reason for many to ignore the adventure of the Batman representatives.

The press and our detailed test also unfortunately attested to the title’s superficial combat system and generic open world in addition to the outdated technology. A new, free update is supposed to give the four Gotham Knights a bit of a boost with the Heroic Attack mode and an adversary from space.

Gotham Knights: Heroic Assault brings separate co-op experience

While you can already play the Gotham Knights story with two people in co-op, the new mode called Heroic Assault will take place separately from the main story. According to the official website, the cooperative experience invites up to four players into an “arena-like environment”, where they then have to fight their way through hordes of opponents through a total of 30 levels.

So if you’ve already cleared the Gotham Knights open world and put all the criminals behind bars, but still want to sniff the digital night air, grab a few friends and download the free update today, starting at 5 p.m., to try out Heroic Assault.

In addition to the new mode, a truly galactic opponent sneaks into the game with the update: Starro, the adversary from outer space. After the villain was last up to mischief in the 2021 film The Suicide Squad, he is now also terrorizing the Gotham Knights – even if he is stuck in a glass prison in the announcement picture.

Exactly what Starro is up to is currently unknown, but it may be related to the new Heroic Assault mode.
