Magical Wishes is the name of the new Pokémon Go season, which will be active from today, December 1, 2022, and will last until March 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Of course, Pokemon Go will come up with all sorts of bonuses during this time, but you’ll also have the opportunity to do Timed Research during certain “Magic Wishes” events to benefit from cool bonuses. Below we have an overview of the general bonuses of the Pokémon Go season Magical Wishes – details on events and the like are of course, as usual, in clear individual guides.

Bonuses throughout the season

Remember the specifics of the research breakthrough in December 2022 and in January and February 2023! Each Research Breakthrough gives you a chance to get one of six Pokémon, all of which can appear as Shiny – i.e You can find the details on this in our article.

  • You’re guaranteed to get gifts when you spin PokéStops (this bonus is permanent from now on).
  • Smoke has increased walking effectiveness (this bonus is now permanent).
  • During the Season of Magical Wishes, your Pokémon deal increased damage in long-distance raids.

Bonuses via Timed Event Research

During the season, three events will offer the opportunity to unlock a Timed Research bonus. You have the choice of a bonus to XP, hatching eggs and stardust. These events are Winter Event Part 2, Lunar New Year, and Valentine’s Day. In the official announcement of Magical Wishes it sounds like this: “During the three events this season, you can get him [den Wunsch] complete and choose a bonus from three different Timed Researches. This bonus will be added to the other event bonuses.” How exactly this plays out, we will probably only find out with the start of the first event, which starts on December 23, 2022.
