NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card is now the most popular on Steam

Even as generations of graphics cards advance, not everyone can go from one generation to another. Many gamers are even waiting for a new generation to buy the old one or even the one before that one.

The latest hardware survey update from Steam shows that the GeForce GTX 1650 has surpassed the queen of GPU popularity, the GTX 1060.

As of November 2022, the GTX 1650 gained 0.66% in popularity, while the GTX 1060 had lost 1.85%. The end of the GPU shortage and the recovery of the PC market from the cryptocurrency explosion were reason enough to upgrade the Pascal GTX 1060 series to something more modern, though not necessarily something much faster.

The GTX 1650 is based on the slower Turing GPU without RTX support. In fact, this GPU is slower than the 6 GB GTX 1060. Both SKUs were available with different memory variants (6GB/3GB or GDDR5/GDDR6), which may explain why they are so popular.

This list shows that the XX50 and XX60 series are still the most popular choice among millions of Steam players. The funny thing about the list is that there is no AMD card at the top even though they are even cheaper than NVIDIA.
