Fortnite: Reality Augments – Which are the Best and Why Should I Use Them?

In Fortnite there has been a new feature since Chapter 4 Season 1, namely the reality extensions. We show you what they bring you, which ones are the best and why you should use them.

What are reality extensions? With Chapter 4, Fortnite not only created wacky weapons, a new map and a Battle Pass for Season 1, but also implemented new mechanics. It’s called Reality Augmentation, and it gives you a lot of in-match benefits the longer you stay in a match.

These perks are comparable to perks from other games. They give you a damage bonus for selected weapons, increased regeneration of your condition in bushes or give you a higher chance of getting hold of items. This is very practical, because it increases your chance of survival many times over.

The best reality extensions

How do the reality enhancements work? In order to activate the reality enhancements, you have to stay in the match for a certain amount of time. Eventually, the message “Ready” will appear on the lower right side of your screen.

You can now choose between two options, which extension you want to activate. If you don’t like either of the available extensions, you can have your selection replaced free of charge. Two new extensions will then appear. Each subsequent replacement then costs 100 gold bars.

In the course of your match, you can even create up to four extensions that will help you in battle. If the match is over or you are eliminated, you lose all expansions and have to choose new ones.

What are the best reality enhancements? All extensions have their reasons for being, but some of them stand out more than others. We looked at all extensions and came to the following conclusion:

• bush warrior – In the large foliage, stamina and part of your shield will be regenerated
• Booze medic – There is a chance to find booze packs in each opened container
• storm marker – When the storm turns, nearby enemies will be marked and highlighted
• gun recycling – Weapons that use medium ammo have a chance of not consuming ammo

What modes are Reality Augments in? These expansions are available in build and non-build modes.

How do I unlock new reality enhancements? All you have to do is play until you have the choice to select expansions again. At some point, new options will appear in your selection that you can select. Then select them to unlock them in your collection.

Why should I use reality enhancements? It is up to you whether you accept the offer or ignore it. The fact is, however, that they give you powerful advantages in combat that you never get otherwise. You just have to be lucky or have enough gold bars in your pocket.

Are these all extensions? No, so far Epic Games has only revealed 22 reality expansions, but leakers already have information that more expansions will follow. A new perk will be called “Midas Touch” and will give you 40 assault rifle ammo and gold per shot when you hit bosses or enemies.
