Blacktail: New trailer for the witch adventure

Blacktail was announced in June 2021, now the witch adventure from the Polish studio The Parasight is about to be released: From December 15th you can slip into the role of the 16-year-old witch Yaga.

Her name is no coincidence, because Blacktail revolves around the Slavic myth of the witch Baba Yaga, who, in addition to her magic, is best known for her home: a hut that struts from place to place on gigantic chicken legs. The new trailer also initially focuses on the fairytale character of the game.

It is not for nothing that the promotional video begins with the famous words “Once upon a time…” and the desperate protagonist Yaga. Despite her young age of 16, she was banished from her village and now has to make her way through the Slavic wilderness of the early Middle Ages. It is up to you whether the title heroine becomes a wicked witch due to her isolation or whether she makes peace with her past.

Because the built-in morale system should take your decisions into account and influence Yaga’s relationship with the numerous magical creatures of the forest. As you try to navigate the present, Yaga is also haunted by the spirits of the past, believed to be part of the dark history and origin of the mythical figure Baba Yaga.

Survival in the Slavic wilderness

Of course, Blacktail not only wants to tell an interesting story, but also to make the connection to the gameplay and that literally: Equipped with bow and arrow, you bring down your enemies with precision from the first-person perspective – at least when you’re not using your powerful magic uses for it.

In addition, the Slavic wilderness offers many ingredients that you can use your knowledge of natural history to process into potions and particularly powerful arrows. A crafting system that you expand by collecting the lost recipes from your grimoire is also part of Blacktail.

Blacktail is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | on December 15th S and the PC.
