A new feature has been enabled in Pokémon GO: Catch Cards. We’ll show you how to use them here.

What’s going on in Pokemon GO? Today, December 6th, 2022, the new event “Mysterious Blade” starts in Pokémon GO. Among other things, the event brings new monsters, changes the spawns and some bonuses are now active.

In addition, a new feature has been activated in Pokémon GO: the new “catch cards” are now available.

How to use catch cards in Pokémon GO

What is a catch card? You can display your monsters in the form of a “catch map” that shows various things:

  • The Pokemon
  • A background to match the type
  • The monster’s WP
  • The way you caught it – such as Raid, Surprise Encounter, or similar
  • The catch date and location
  • The ball used

The monster also appears as you find it in your collection. Best friends have the corresponding badge, and shiny or costume variants are displayed accordingly.

You also have the option of replacing the “standard” image with an AR snapshot. This can then look like this, for example:

The cards also let you take a picture

What does the catch card bring? The catch card is a purely social feature. For example, you can post the map on social media or send it to your friends if you want to share your latest catches. This is probably similar to the overview at the end of the adventure smoke.

Collected in the game, like the postcards, they are not currently available.

How do I use the catch card? If you’ve just caught a Pokémon or click on it in the collection, you just have to click on the menu on the bottom right (the three lines where there are also, for example, Rating and Send).

There you will find the new option “Catch Map” between the candy conversion and the tags.

Restriction: According to the current status, the feature is only possible with monsters that you have actually caught. Pokemon hatched from Eggs or traded to you cannot be immortalized as a Catch card at this time.

What do you think of the new feature? Can you do something with it, or is the catch card not for you? Tell us in the comments!

Otherwise, the details for Community Day in December 2022 have just been announced in Pokémon GO.
