Monster Hunter Rise will be a digital-only release on PlayStation and Xbox

Monster Hunter Rise could arrive on PlayStation, Xbox and Game Pass in 2023

Capcom recently announced that its monster hunting game Monster Hunter Rise, which is currently only available for Nintendo Switch and PC, will soon be released on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well. Its release, however, will come with a caveat that those who prefer to buy physical copies of its games won’t mind much.

As reported by Gematsu on Twitter, Capcom has confirmed that when Monster Hunter Rise is released for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, it will only be available in digital format. Currently, the company has no plans to release a physical version of the game on the platforms. That would mean the Switch is still the only platform where you can get a physical copy of the action RPG.

Monster Hunter Rise it will run at 4K and 60 FPS on current-gen consoles, while Capcom has confirmed that a 1080p/120 FPS option will also be available. The game will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One on January 20 (and will be available day and date via Game Pass), with the expansion, sunbreakarriving in spring.
