The Game Awards are rumored to feature James Bond and a Cyberpunk 2077 expansion

from Sarah Petzold
New leaks and rumors about the Game Awards 2022: Daniel Craig is said to be there in person. An insider also claims to have learned that CD Projekt Red will be showing the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.

The rumor mill about potential announcements and highlights as part of the Game Awards 2022 continues to simmer. After speculation of an Elden Ring DLC and Diablo 4, rumors are now circulating that Daniel “James Bond” Craig himself could be present at the show. In addition, fans speculate about Cyberpunk 2022.

Daniel Craig presenting Project 007 at the Game Awards?

On reddit, a user named ThatGamechange claims that the Game Awards 2022 will feature Project 007, among others. Project 007 is the project name for a James Bond game from IO Interactive, which is expected to be released in 2025. In connection with the presentation of the title at the Game Awards, Daniel Craig will also come on stage – possibly to present the game live. However, it is difficult to say how credible this leak is, because ThatGamechange has otherwise attracted attention on Reddit with questionable posts, as a look at its user account reveals.

In contrast, a leak from the well-known insider Tyler McVicker, who has attracted attention in the past with leaks to Bethesda titles and Half Life, is much more credible. For his part, McVicker claims to have learned from a reliable source that the developers at CD Projekt Red will be showing the new DLC Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2022 at the Game Awards 2022.

Should Phantom Liberty actually be seen at the Game Awards, which we consider quite likely given the release date planned for spring 2023, fans can probably look forward to a detailed gameplay trailer. Incidentally, the Game Awards 2022 will take place on December 9th, 2022 at 1:30 a.m. German time – so we will know more tomorrow at the latest.
