An absolute legend returns to Blizzard and WoW
After 23 years at Blizzard, Chris Metzen announced his retirement in 2016. His tenure at the company includes responsible for story design on Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness, serving as creative director during development of Overwatch, and voice acting on numerous Blizzard titles. Metzen is also probably one of Blizzard’s most well-known personalities, and for many users, the person who made Blizzard so popular in the first place.

Understandably, many players didn’t like Metzen’s resignation too much, but at least the developer hasn’t completely stopped creating new worlds. With his new Warchief Gaming company For example, he published Auroboros: Coils of the Serpenta campaign for Dungeons and Dragons.
In the meantime, however, Metzen has probably been gripped by World of Warcraft fever again, as have many other players around the world who are having a lot of fun with the latest expansion, Dragonflight. Many WoW veterans will surely be happy to see Chris Metzen returning to the franchise. Especially since the last two expansions, Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands, were not well received by the community, especially in terms of story. However, despite his new role, fans of Metzen’s new project Auroboros need not worry. There are said to be “big plans” for this as well, as Metzen explains on Twitter.
