The next remake of dead space is a game that seeks to balance between being a faithful recreation of the original as well as contributing new ideas, both in the story and in its gameplay. The remake is known to alter the way certain story sequences play out while ensuring that the actual plot doesn’t stray too far from the original game, and in a new video uploaded by IGN, the developer Motive Studio has revealed more details about it.

One particular scene from the game that fans will likely remember is the USG Ishimura captain’s transformation into a Necromorph. In the next remake, it will play out a bit differently. Instead of witnessing it from behind a glass screen, Isaac will now be in the room trying to get the captain’s platform out, when an infector will break in and infect the captain’s body, causing the transformation right on top of Isaac. The scene then cuts to the game.

From the looks of it, it’s going for a much more visceral and violent scene, while Motive Studio has also added a number of atmospheric effects to add to the tension, such as a low, thick layer of mysterious fog. In the video, members of the development team talk about the process of conceptualizing the reimagined scene, as well as filming, animations, adding visual effects, and more.
