The Lord of the Rings: Gollum: New release period limited to a few months
When appears The Lord of the Rings: Gollum? After a postponement last year, there is no new date so far. However, a financial report by publisher Nacon limits the publication.
The action-adventure with stealth focus is currently being developed by Daedalic, who have become known primarily for their adventures in the past. The Hamburg studio now belongs to the French publisher Nacon, who recently published their annual report. There are also a few statements about upcoming games, including that of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – Release in the first half of the financial year
Overall, Nacon plans in Fiscal year 2023-2024 with 20 game releases including RoboCop: Rogue City, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. While no further details are given for the first two, there is a more precise assessment of the digital Gollum appearance.
Accordingly, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum should appear in the first half of the coming financial year. That would mean Daedalic’s stealth adventures between April 1st and September 30th, 2023 appears – provided of course that there is no further postponement.
However, the annual report does not provide any current information on the status of development. It is therefore unclear how well the team can cope with the additional time gained and how Gollum is currently doing.
Already postponed several times
The development of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum can be described as quite bumpy so far. The action-adventure was announced in 2019 and should appear in 2021. At the time, we were able to take a first look at the game in a preview, but we were skeptical as to whether the developers could handle such a large license.
After a postponement to 2022, it should be in September 2022. However, this date could not be met again, which is why publisher Nacon postponed the game indefinitely in July 2022. Since then, Gollum’s video game adventures have been pretty quiet.
