Cosplay for The Last of Us: This act of transformation is pure horror
By now it’s probably clear to everyone that the series for The Last of Us doesn’t succumb to the adaptation curse, but actually takes the gaming template into a gripping live-action spectacle full of suspense, impressive sets and great acting performances. And: eerily good practical effects. Because the monstrous clickers – the people infected with Cordyceps – whose bodies have arrived in the third stage of parasitic takeover, really scared viewers in episode 2. There is also a fantastic cosplay to match.
Cosplay The Last of Us: A clicker for real!
With the help of the grandiose mask work by Francesco Sanseverino is the model Ivan King turned into the terrible monster from The Last of Us. As he mimics the creepy jerky movements, the prosthetic head in particular does the best job: the sallow skin, the exploding mushroom that springs from the human head, plus the teeth – brrrr! This is really spooky:
The silicone mask is not the only mushroom element, because other offshoots of the Cordyceps parasite also sprout from the character’s shoulders. But of course it’s still the most exciting part of the cosplay – here is some making-of material:
Where can I watch The Last of Us?
New episodes of The Last of Us can be seen in this country via Sky / WOW. They appear weekly in the night from Sunday to Monday, so you can watch a new episode every Monday evening, for example. Alternatively, you can wait until the entire season has aired – the finale Episode 9 of The Last of Us Season 1 will be released on the night of March 13, 2023.
