Hogwarts Legacy tops sales charts ahead of release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
Not even out yet, Hogwarts Legacy is currently the best-selling game across all platforms. On Steam and the Epic Games Store, the title that fans have been waiting for is the number one top seller, and the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S editions also dominate the Amazon sales charts.
The year has barely started and just like 2022 with Elden Ring, the most successful game could come in February. We’re talking about Hogwarts Legacy, which is causing a stir even before the release and is about to overshadow all the competition this year. The open-world adventure, set in the Wizarding World created by JK Rowling, will be released in a few days, officially on February 10th for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Further editions for Playstation 4 and Xbox One will follow on April 4th and for the Nintendo Switch on July 25th.
Best-selling game on all platforms even before release
It has long been known that Hogwarts Legacy the list of Top Sellers on Steam, surpassing both Counter Strike: Global Offensive microtransactions and the Steam Deck, as well as the Dead Space remake that was released just a week ago. Hogwarts Legacy also sits on another major distribution platform, the Epic Games Store First place in the top seller. This is followed by Borderlands 3, which is currently reduced in price by 90 percent, the Premium Edition of GTA 5 and again the Dead Space Remake.

What about the console versions? Just as splendid as on the PC, one might think. The Amazon bestsellers in the game categories for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S give a picture of this. The PS5 standard edition is meanwhile on the first placefollowed by Dead Space and the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy. The same picture for the Xbox Series X/S. If you only look at standalone players, the Standard Edition takes first place, followed by the Deluxe Edition (Digital Code). It should be noted that these are only pre-orders. The sales figures after the release are still to be added.
The future will show how long Hogwarts Legacy can ultimately stay at the top of the sales charts. But it is already clear that the magical open-world adventure will be one of the most successful games of 2023. Whether this will also be the case on a playful level could be decided on Monday, because then the first reviews should be published. A day later, Deluxe Edition buyers will get their 72-hour early access, at 12:00 a.m. on consoles and at 7:00 p.m. on PC.
