The Day Before: New gameplay for the well-known vaporware candidate – News

The survival MMO The Day Before attracted attention because it was visually removed in its first trailers The Last of Us remembered and mysteriously landed at number 2 on the Steam wish list. It’s currently unavailable on Valve’s store after the developer said it had to be removed due to a trademark complaint. That came just ahead of the first gameplay showcase since a clip in 2021 – although the title was due out in March this year. Now, a few days after the originally scheduled date for the new video for the game, the Singapore-based developer Fntastic released 10 minutes of uncommented gameplay (there is also no video description at all). The clip mainly shows walking paths through the very pretty surroundings. In between, the gun is screwed on at a workbench, cupboards are rummaged through and at some point a few not very motivated zombies are shot at.

The MMO was postponed once before, relatively close to the planned release date, because the developer thought it was the best time to switch to Unreal Engine 5 with The Day Before. November 10th, 2023 has been set as the new release date – whether a playable The Day Before will actually be released or whether the curious history of the potential vaporware candidate will then only receive its next chapter remains to be seen.
