After 9 years, Bungie is showing everyone in Destiny 2 what every Guardian feared
The end of Season 19 is over, leaving many Guardians with their jaws dropped. Here on MeinMMO we show you why the finale in the last season of Destiny 2: Witch Queen was so meaningful.
What happened at the end of Season 19? Those who completed the More Than One Weapon quest could automatically start the final mission, Abominable Imperative. After you had completed this, cinematic started immediately for the conclusion of Season 19. We include it here for you:
The cinematic not only caused a lot of goosebumps, but also for speechless guardians and an overwhelming feeling that the end of Destiny 2 will soon spread.
After 9 years, the Traveler leaves Earth, but only almost
What have Guardians feared? Anyone who has followed Destiny 2’s story knows that Guardians cannot exist without the Traveler. Already in the past, the white floating sphere blessed extraterrestrial life and with its light advanced these beings scientifically as well as biologically.
But when the darkness got too close to the traveller, the traveler would disappear, leaving the alien life forms to fend for themselves. A small sacrifice so that the traveler could live.
In the cutscene, the traveler has now moved away from the last town and positioned itself in front of the Warmind satellites. But these were destroyed after Rasputin was sacrificed. Now the mighty white sphere is hovering over the earth, but so far away from the last city that you can no longer see it.
Is the traveler gone? No not directly. He has left the last city and is far above this one. Why the traveler has now moved away is not entirely clear. Either:
- He wanted to protect the last city from being damaged by Erami’s careless attack.
- He wanted to leave, but was intercepted by the Warmind Art Elites and found that escaping the Black Fleet was no longer possible.
Either way, it becomes clear that the saga between light and darkness will soon come to an end. The traveler will not be able to hide again. The witness asked him and will now do everything possible to put an end to the light and everything that shouldn’t exist.
What do you think the traveler was up to? Was that a selfless act with a protective purpose, or did the traveler actually want to make the turn again? Let us know in the comments.
