A new version of an HD remaster mod brings the multiplayer shooter classic 1942 to new glory. The modification provides numerous new improvements in the areas of better viewing and rendering distances, improved level of detail improvements and additional objects in the maps.
The multiplayer shooter classic Battlefield 1942 can be beautified: At the beginning of the year, the modder ScureHD released a new version of its “High-Definition Remaster Graphics Overhaul Mod” for Battlefield 1942 revamped Battlefield 1942 to reflect on the roots of the game series.

With this overhaul mod for Battlefield 1942
the game graphics should be improved. Higher resolution textures, higher render distances, better LOD quality as well as reflection and specular light improvements are used. The latest version now again increases the view and render distance as well as the quality of the level-of-detail models. Additionally, the mod includes some new models and objects on most of the maps.

This comparison video impressively shows that the mod actually works wonders for the game’s graphics. If you’re a fan of the Battlefield series and are still grossly disappointed with the new installment, Battlefield 2042, why not go back to basics and give Battlefield 1942 another try – this time with improved graphics.
