Eight years ago he was in Guardian of the Galaxy a real scene stealer, now he gets his first own series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Tree Alien groot.

In the upcoming show we see some so far untold stories from the life of the little fan favorite. Why you at i am groot If you can take a look with a clear conscience, we’ll tell you in our series review.

Completed mini-adventures with a mini-hero

But first, let’s address the question of what the series is all about: like the ones that were also published on Disney Plus some time ago Baymax! series Groot’s first solo series also consists of several short stories. All in all, you can open yourselves five episodes of about four minutes each be happy.

Everyone tells one self-contained story. Accordingly, there is no overarching plot. In one episode, our little protagonist is fooling around with you special mud around while he’s in another episode a dance duel delivers or on a hidden alien civilization meets.

There is no chronological classification in the MCU timeline, but based on the size of our main character, most of the short stories, with one exception, play parallel to the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – but you shouldn’t have much time to think about it, because the stories just fly past you.

I just can’t be mad at Groot

This is due to the short duration of the episodes, because they are as fast as you got into them already over again.

The comedy usually results from that Contrast between Groot’s really cute looks and his sometimes questionable actions. It’s a rather dirty humor, partly already known from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and yes, our little fan favorite is one rather bad guy. However, due to its extremely cute appearance, we can don’t really be angry.

Also, we can’t be angry at all those responsible for the CGI effects, because these are absolutely excellent. It is a in many scenes photorealistic look, which the makers of the new MCU series conjure up on the screen here. It doesn’t matter whether Groot wanders through the dark corridors of the Milano or by accident discovered an alien civilizationall of which looks simply excellent and evokes this Marvel adventure that is just 20 minutes long believable to life.

“I am Groot” is definitely aimed at all those MCU fans who even more time want to spend with the lovable alien. This, in turn, proves very nicely in the five short stories that it can certainly shoulder its own series.

It is a thoroughly amusing fun, which is over as quickly as it began. We would have loved to have watched Groot do more escapades.

“I am Groot” is from August 10, 2022 available exclusively on Disney Plus.
