This week’s Steam sales charts
At first glance at the list of Steam sales charts, it is clear that nothing has changed on the throne, as it has been for a long time. The handheld PC still takes first place Steamdeck and nothing is likely to change in this regard for the remainder of the year. The current second place is a surprise. There is the new first-person shooter titled by Justin Roiland, co-author of Rick and Morty High On Life. Our editor Stefan played the game for you and was able to claim at the end that Rick and Morty would certainly be proud of the result.
As a result, it also has this week for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 no longer enough for second place. The first-person shooter, which is more serious in comparison, has to be content with third place, but has brought reinforcements with it this time: The is currently in 10th place Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Vault Edition. In addition, it made it Crisis Core – Final Fantasy 7 – Reunion straight into the charts in its first week. FIFA 23 and Red Dead Redemption 2 and the newbie Dwarf Fortress were also able to stay in the charts. While FIFA 23 climbed the podium, Dwarf Fortress had to go down. At the same time it made it God of War back in the charts, thanks to a currently running discount campaign. Here is the complete top 10 in the overview.

How the Steam sales charts are made
Incidentally, the calculation of the current top 10 of the Steam sales charts is not based solely on the number of copies of the respective games sold, but always on the sales generated by the software or hardware sold. So, especially expensive products have an “advantage”. The sales charts listed above refer to the period from 12th to 18th December 2022. The charts presented by us are published weekly in one XML feed on Steam issued.
