When is The Elder Scrolls 6 coming out? Everything about the “Skyrim” successor
After “Oblivion” and “Skyrim”, role-playing fans are eagerly awaiting “The Elder Scrolls 6”. Although Bethesda has release plans, it is still unclear when exactly a release is due. You can find out what is already known about the game here.
It has already been confirmed that Bethesda is working on The Elder Scrolls 6 2018 at the E3 games fair. A short video teaser showed how the lettering “The Elder Scrolls 6” floated over a mountainous landscape. A castle could be seen, the sea shone in the background, and epic music played – there was and is still no information about the story or the location.
Fresh information finally in 2023?
Four years after the big announcement, “The Elder Scrolls 6” is at least in “full development” and no longer in the “concept phase”. This was confirmed by Bethesda boss Todd Howard via The Telegraph in early 2021. And at the beginning of 2023, fresh information should finally be published. Because: Bethesda Marketing Manager Pete Hines already revealed in 2019 that role-playing fans can look forward to new information after the release of the space adventure “Starfield”. And the game should come out after another postponement in the first half of 2023.

Release: Much speculation and Xbox exclusivity
One can only speculate as to when “The Elder Scrolls 6” will celebrate its release: If “Starfield” really does appear in the first half of 2023 after several postponements, it could take another two or three years before a new adventure comes out in Tamriel. Small drop of bitterness: PlayStation fans will have to look into the tube. In early 2021, Microsoft had Bethesda for a Record total of $7.5 billion bought up and thus secured the exclusive rights to all upcoming Bethesda titles.

It will still be a few years before “The Elder Scrolls 6” is released. Until then you can, for example, enter the world of “The Elder Scrolls Online“, which will continue to be updated with fresh content. To coincide with Skyrim’s tenth anniversary, Bethesda also has one in November 2021 Anniversary edition released. And in addition to a next-gen upgrade, it offers hundreds of new content.
