One Piece: Creators of the Netflix series reveal the creation of the Baratie and fans are excited
One Piece is being made into a Netflix series. This causes great joy among many fans, but also skepticism. A new video could now shift the scales a little more in one direction: The series makers show how some sets of the film adaptation are built and that meets with a lot of love. For example, the restaurant ship Baratie just looks really cool.
One Piece: This is what the Baratie looks like in the series
That’s what it’s about: A new mini-making of provides new insights into the Netflix series. To be more precise: In the making of the sets and set pieces that we will see in the film adaptation of the manga. According to the first impression, they were rebuilt with great attention to detail, as you can see for yourself in this video:

One Piece: Netflix reveals a first look at the set of the series
What to see Quite a lot if we take a closer look. First, the showrunners and Monkey D. Luffy actor Iñaki Godoy give us a quick rundown of what to expect. Then we get a promising first impression of some ships. For example, there is the Thousand Sunny, of which a real model and, above all, concept art can only be seen very briefly. Miss Love Duck and Going Merry aka Flying Lamb are also shown for what feels like fractions of a second.

However, the focus is clearly on the replica of the restaurant ship Baratie. It is modeled after a huge fish and also has a bar in its wide-open mouth. The whole thing looks pretty impressive at first glance and should make a good impression in the Netflix series. You can read more about the series adaptation in these GamePro articles:

Overall, the reactions to this new info and the “making of” tidbit are something like this GIF:

At best, some fans are a little impatient because they finally want to see more. Above all, the straw hat pirate gang with real actors and of course the implementation of the devil fruit powers still causes cautious skepticism, but the rest has been very well received so far.

Despite all the anticipation, there are of course also voices that are reminiscent of the Cowboy Bebop film adaptation and the adaptation of Death Note on Netflix. But these are more than offset by the positive reactions:

Above all, the obvious attention to detail in the set pieces creates enthusiasm:
Holy shit those sets are immaculate.

Patience is required: However, we still have to keep our anticipation in check. It will still be a long time before the One Piece series is released on Netflix. It’s not likely to happen this year and there isn’t an official start date yet. But anticipation is known to be the greatest joy.
How do you like the design of the replicas? What do you think of the mini making of?
