DC Universe Online developer wants to make great Marvel MMORPG – we know that

The project manager behind the MMO DC Universe Online probably no longer wants to concentrate solely on the DC universe. Rather, he plans to develop a large AAA MMORPG in the Marvel Universe in the coming years. Find out everything we already know about the new Marvel MMORPG here on MeinMMO.

What game is it about? The DC Universe online studio Daybreak Game Company belongs to the holding company Enad Global 7. This group recently held an investor presentation (via enadglobal7.com) and presented new projects there.

This included news about the company’s existing games, such as DC Universe Online or Lord of the Rings Online. But the most exciting thing was certainly the very last announcement. Because at the very end there is talk of an “unannounced MMORPG”.

This is supposed to be an AAA title and developed by the Dimensional Ink Games studio. It certainly has nothing to do with the hapless flop “Marvel’s Avengers” or the chic mobile game “Marvel Future Revolution”.

Who is the boss? Jack Emmet is also head of the project. He’s still the boss of DC Universe Online so far. But actually his heart beats more for Marvel, because Emmet has been trying to develop a Marvel MMORPG since 2006.

He had almost made it once and Microsoft actually wanted to develop a game called “Marvel Universe Online”. In the end, things didn’t go well and the project was canceled and abandoned.

Jack Emmet’s passion for superheroes is undisputed, as the man was also a co-founder of Cryptic Studios, which developed the superhero MMORPG City of Heroes.

DC Universe Online is still to be developed further, even if the boss will probably devote himself to Marvel in the future.

When is the Marvel MMORPG coming? Anyone who is already hoping for a timely release of the game and sees themselves thrashing as an Iron Man, Hulk or Black Widow opponent as early as 2022 will have to be patient. Because the release of the project is clearly under “long-term planning” and will certainly not be ready before 2023, more likely later.
