Player farms weeks for rare items in Diablo 2 Resurrected – Will be stolen after 4 days

According to his own statements, a player farmed for a special weapon in Diablo 2 Resurrected for several weeks. However, after just 4 days of his acquisition, the gun was stolen from him. But the community helps.

What kind of item is that? It’s about the weapon “grief”. Mourning is a so-called rune word that has to be put together from several components. It can either be an ax or a sword.

A special characteristic of grief is that it ignores the enemy’s defense, increases the attack speed and can cast the spell “poisonous drool” when attacking. This makes the weapon particularly interesting for barbarians.

Why is it so rare? Since mourning needs 5 runes, it is one of the rarer rune words. For the foundation, a gray weapon with 5 socket places must first be found, which in itself is rare. The best way to find such weapons is in the cow level.

In addition, one of the runes needed to build it is one of the most sought after. “Lo” is used in many strong runic words and is one of the rarest runes in the game.

In order to create rune words like mourning, the runes must be placed in the correct order in the corresponding item. This is how the runes create a more powerful object from a gray item, if you do everything right:

Gun stolen in public play

How was the item stolen? The player Bryght writes in the unofficial Diablo forum diablo2.iothat after many solo runs he has now tried to play a public game with strangers. At this point, he is said to have had grief for just 4 days.

That went pretty well too. Until he helped someone eliminate some opponents.

A rare object fell to the ground and he picked it up to put in his horadric cube. He accidentally threw his weapon out of the inventory:

I was frozen solid and felt my heart stop beating. I tried, [die Waffe] panicked to pick it up, but the guy next to me picked it up. You know how a pedestrian who is about to be hit by a car simply stands rooted in the middle of the street and cannot move? That’s exactly how I felt.

Bryght says he wrote to the other player and asked about it. But he is only supposed to have said: “I didn’t steal anything, I found that on the floor!” He now wants to cancel the online game and instead only play offline – if at all.

The rare item was just a “blue” spell, by the way – nothing for which such a rare rune word would be given.

Community gives new grief

This is how the community reacts: In the forum it is said that it has already happened to several players that they pulled their items from the inventory due to a small mistake. However, you could always pick them up.

However, there were some friendly teammates who have put his “grief” back together again. Just a few hours later, he had two offers from the community for new, specially built swords.

Bryght replied the day after that he went straight to bed after the post. He got up and found a “flood of friend requests”, could hardly believe that the community had really built new swords for him.

Thankfully, he accepted the gift and asked directly: “Please, don’t give me your items. I can’t take so much generosity. ”Shortly afterwards, however, he made a donation to the relevant Diablo community.
