Sony and Naughty Dog have new details on the upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection announced for PS5 and PC. It also confirms what was haunted the rumor mill a few weeks ago and should not please everyone.

What is actually in the collection? The Legacy of Thieves Collection includes revised versions of the two PS4 classics Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy.

When does the collection appear? The release is planned for January 28, 2022.

Is there a trailer yet? Yes, there is, you can see it here:

These are the different graphics modes and advantages of the PS5 version

Technically, the Legacy of Thieves Collection does not come as a surprise to the stronger technology of the PS5 system and offers a total of three different graphic modes:

  • Fidelity: The first choice for 4K displays, because in this setting the titles run in native 4K resolution and at 30 fps.
  • Performance: There is a dynamic resolution, but also a frame rate of 60 fps.
  • Performance+: Everyone should use this option with a preference for the fastest possible frame rates, because here the Uncharted parts run in 120 fps, but “only” in a resolution of 1080p.

In addition, the collection naturally also takes advantage of the other technical advantages of the PS5, i.e. the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller, faster loading times and 3D audio.

No multiplayer: In terms of content, however, there are a few restrictions. Because while the complete single-player campaigns are included in the collection, the multiplayer modes are completely missing. So you cannot play Survival Arena or similar in the PS5 remasters. A few weeks ago we reported about a possible elimination of multiplayer:

Upgrade option for owners of the PS4 version

If you already own one of the two games (i.e. Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy) or the digital bundle of both titles on the PS4 and switch to the PS5 remaster, you get a comparatively cheap upgrade option. The whole thing costs 10 euros and then gives you the complete digital collection.

Small downer: Owners of the disc versions have to insert them if they want to download or play the collection. This also means that you do not have an inexpensive upgrade option if you own the disc versions and a PS5 Digital Edition.

Are you going to get the collection?
