There was no clear winner for you this year. In the first three places, the PS5 hit Ratchet & Clank jostle closely together: Rift Apart, surprise hit It Takes Two and Forza Horizon 5, which is missing from the GOTY vote of the Game Awards this year to the displeasure of many fans.

Cyberpunk 2077 was considered the most anticipated game of the year, but ultimately disappointed many with the lack of content that was previously promised and, last but not least, the unplayable condition on the PS4 and Xbox One. Even with you, the role-playing giant only lands in fourth place. But many of you also see it in a forgiving way. Sonnyblack_DM write to us under the survey:

I voted for CP2077. I gambled through it when it was released on my PS4 Pro. Despite the many flaws, I found the atmosphere, characters, and stories that are told absolutely awesome. I really enjoyed the time in the game and am waiting for the PS5 update to treat myself to another run with next-gen graphics!

Although it wasn’t quite enough for first place in the end, It Takes Two was a real community favorite for you. Due to its huge variety, there was no boredom from start to finish. Björn1893 sums it up like this:

For me it’s It Takes Two. Have been playing video games for almost 20 years. But I’ve never seen a game that is such an extreme innovation bomb as the game. There were almost over 250 different gameplay elements and each had to be done entirely by two people – I would like games like this much more often.

But you also told us in no less than 161 comments about your other insider tips and highlights of the gaming year. Of course, we don’t want to withhold them from you either!
