The Halo Infinite multiplayer battles will be expanded to include a number of new playlists.

Halo Infinite’s Free2Play multiplayer will get a playlist update in the coming week. Brian Jarrard, Community Director at 343 Industries, announced im Halo-Subreddit on. This adds a few modes to the existing matchmaking playlists.

When will the playlist update come? In just a few days, on December 14, 2021.

Which playlists are added? In total, 343 Industries is adding four new playlists:

  • Slayer
  • Fiesta
  • FFA (Free-For-All)
  • Tactical Slayer (SWAT)

With this, the studio reacts to the loud calls from the community, which had criticized the manageable playlist offer since the launch. Above all, the lack of a dedicated Slayer playlist was warned, now even more popular modes are being added in addition to this variant.

The popular fiesta, for example, in which all participants start with random weapons, had already been part of the Fracture Tenrai event a few weeks ago. And the SWAT mode, in which everyone starts without shields and with a BR and pistol as armament, enjoyed great popularity in past Halo parts. The package is rounded off by an everyone against everyone playlist (FFA), which was also not yet on offer.

Some challenges will also be adjusted

In addition, it was announced that the update will also bring a few adjustments to the challenge system, which ensures progress within the game. Among other things, some mode-specific challenges that had caused frustration in the last few days and weeks should be eliminated.

According to Jarrard, there will also be a new challenge category based on the overall result of a player. That would be the first step towards a performance-based XP system that many people want.

Halo Infinite’s Free2Play multiplayer started in November 2021 and, in addition to a lot of praise, also had to take a lot of criticism. The latter mainly affected the Battle Pass progression system. On this point too, 343 has already provided relief.
