Star Wars: Eclipse: Release is likely to be at least three to four years away

As part of the Game Awards 2021, the Quantic Dream team announced Star Wars Eclipse, the studio’s next major project. According to industry insider Tom Henderson, players will have to wait a while for the new game. Accordingly, the release of Star Wars Eclipse should be at least three to four years away. Henderson revealed the first details about the sci-fi title even before the new Quantic Dream project was revealed.

The team in Paris is responsible for the story. Studio boss David Cage is also said to be involved in the project. At the moment, however, Quantic Dream is having trouble hiring new developers. Dozens of job postings can currently be found on the website. It is entirely possible that the reports of toxic working conditions from the past contribute here. Another problem that Quantic Dream is currently struggling with is the internal QD engine. Star Wars Eclipse is apparently intended to be an open world game – a genre for which the graphics engine was not originally designed. Quantic Dream was recently responsible for games like Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.
