New World: Fans eagerly await the big patch 1.2 – but when will the update be released?

The winter event is supposed to start in New World today, December 14th. This emerged from the patch notes on the PTR server. But so far there is no new update in sight. When is the release of Patch 1.2?

When will patch 1.2 appear? On December 3rd, the developers announced the major update 1.2. This brings some adjustments to the endgame and PvP, balance changes and the winter event.

In the preliminary patch notes for 1.2 it is stated that the winter event should start on December 14th. That would be today. But so far the developers have not made any move to publish a new patch.

Community manager Luxendra responded to inquiries in the forum and stressed that things can change from the PTR patch notes: “The information from the PTR patch notes can change. When we announce an upcoming patch, you’ll find it in the Official News section.

This indicates that there will probably be no update today.

Updates actually appear on Thursday – will the winter event be postponed by a week?

What else is noticeable? The developers of New World have been publishing their updates on Thursdays for a few weeks now. The first 3 updates were released on a Wednesday. However, Tuesday has not yet been a patch day for New World.

Many are now speculating that patch 1.2 should actually appear last Thursday, December 9th. The winter event would then have already been installed, but only activated a few days later.

But due to the amount of feedback on the PTR, there were too big changes that should be tested before the release, such as the price reduction for the production of plaster, the new perks and a few general bug fixes that were only announced in the forum a few days later .

This is also supported by the fact that patch 1.1.2, which actually appeared on December 9th, was rather small.

When is the release of Update 1.2 and the winter event? The release of Patch 1.2 seems most likely this week, Wednesday or Thursday. The winter event will probably go hand in hand with this.

However, there is also speculation that the winter event will continue to be activated with a delay. Then a postponement of a whole week, i.e. until December 21st, would be possible.
