Pokémon GO: Guide for Community Day in December – How to use the event properly

The huge December Community Day starts in Pokémon GO on Saturday, December 18, 2021. This goes over two days and brings you some special features. We at MeinMMO have taken a look at what awaits you at this event and show you how you can best use it.

What kind of event is that? Every month there is a so-called Community Day in Pokémon GO. This usually focuses on a specific Pokémon and spawns more frequently during the event. December has something special in store for this, because this Community Day will be huge and will bring you 25 monsters.

The selected Pokémon that you can catch on the two event days come from the Community Days in 2020 and 2021. You will encounter them either in the wild, in eggs or through raids.

This is how you make the most of Community Day in December 2021

What preparations should you make? As with every other Community Day, you have to make space in your Pokémon box in advance so that you have to sort out as little as possible during the event.

You will also need countless balls to catch that day. Collect them now by turning the PokéStop or opening the gifts. With the current Christmas event, you can even open up to 45 gifts a day. Make sure you take advantage of this, as this is the easiest way to secure your balls.

Depending on how much and how actively you want to play, you should have saved at least 350 balls per day. This way you can catch a while and don’t have to fill up your supply directly.

These items are important for Community Day

Unlike what you know from the regular C-Days, you won’t just find a certain monster in the wild with this one. In total, you can meet up to 25 different Pokémon, which are made available to you by Niantic in different ways.

Depending on which monsters you want to secure yourself, you will need the corresponding items. In addition to the numerous balls to catch, it is also a good idea if you are already holding smoke and lock modules. You need up to 2 of them per day.

Use these items

In order to get as many candies as possible, it is also advisable to have a supply of sananberries. During the event, catching Pokémon will give you Double XP and Double Stardust anyway. You can increase this again by using star pieces and lucky eggs. Each of these items is effective for 30 minutes.

You should also have sufficient raid passes ready for raids. If you prefer to use the shorter hatching distance of the eggs, it is best to incubate several eggs at once, which is why you may need one or the other incubator.

What is particularly worthwhile on Community Day?

During Community Day you can meet numerous strong monsters that are ideal for use in raids or the PvP league. For example, Luxtra and Knakrack are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

It is best to think in advance which monsters you are still missing and which you still need a strong specimen or candy. It is also a good idea to use the swap bonuses and diligently swap monsters with your friends. This way you also have the chance of a Lucky Pokémon. The additional special exchange that you have every day can be used optimally for your lucky friends.

But you shouldn’t ignore the other bonuses for the event either. So you get double stardust and XP when catching monsters. Community Day is therefore the perfect opportunity to farm a lot of stardust and EP.

And you should also use the shortened hatching distance. If you don’t feel like the event Pokémon from the 2 km eggs, you can instead fall back on the 10 and 12 km eggs, which contain one or the other rare specimen. In our article we have summarized which monsters you can currently find in the 12 km eggs.

Of course, the shiny hunters will also get their money’s worth at this event. Each of the Pokémon for Community Day is also available in its dazzling form.
