Pokémon GO: Raid lesson today with Kyurem – is it worth it?

The last raid hour of 2021 will take place in Pokémon GO today, December 29, 2021. Here you can meet the legendary monster Kyurem. We’ll show you which counterattacks you should best use and whether the short event is worthwhile for you.

What kind of event is it about? Every Wednesday there is a so-called raid hour in Pokémon GO. In this, level 5 raids start in almost all arenas, in which you can compete against legendary Pokémon.

Before the year 2021 comes to an end, there will be another such event today. The focus of this raid lesson will be the legendary dragon and ice Pokémon Kyurem.

Raid lesson with Kyurem – The best counterattacks

When does the raid lesson start? As you are used to from the past, today’s raid hour will start again punctually at 6:00 p.m. local time. You then have 60 minutes to take part in as many level 5 raids as possible until the event ends again at 7:00 p.m.

Use this counterattack against Kyurem: The legendary Dragon and Ice-type Pokémon has a particular weakness against Combat, Rock, Steel, Dragon and Fairy-type attacks. For this reason, use the following monsters (via pokebattler.com):

Pokémon Moveset
(Crypto-) Metagross Bullet blow and star blow
(Crypto-) Machomei Counterattack and massive blow
Terracion Catapult and Sancto Blade
Lucario Counterattack and aurasphere
(Crypto-) Hariyama Counterattack and massive blow
(Crypto-) Dragoran Dragon rod and dragon claw
(Crypto-) Despotar Catapult and stone edge
(Crypto-) Brutalanda Dragon tail and tantrum
Masterpiece Counterattack and massive blow
(Crypto-) Guardevoir Charm and magic shine

In addition, you can use the following mega developments:

  • Mega Gyarados with dragon tail and tantrum
  • Mega Charizard Y with breath of fire and dragon claw
  • Mega floppy ear with kick kick and focus kick

Is the raid lesson with Kyurem worth it?

Does Kyurem exist as Shiny? Yes, with a little luck you can meet a dazzling Kyurem. You can recognize it by the pink decoration on the head.

How strong is kyurem? Kyurem can basically score with good attack and stamina values, but there are better candidates in Pokémon GO for use in raids. So if you are looking for a strong Raid Pokémon, you should rather fall back on one of the monsters, which are among the best attackers in the game.

Kyurem is also not the first choice in the PvP league. According to PvPoke, it can only score as a solid alternative in the champions league (via pvpoke.com).

For whom is the raid lesson worthwhile today? The raid lesson is a good opportunity, especially for shiny hunters, to secure a more dazzling kyurem. For use in raids and the GO battle league, you should rather look for other alternatives.

Are you going to attend the hour-long event today? Or have you already been able to get hold of a dazzling copy and prefer to skip? Feel free to write your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments.
